David Herman – Franz liszt, Orage from Années de pèlerinage

The work ‘Orage’ is from the Années de pèlerinage, first book (Switzerland) by Franz Liszt. It is based on Byron’s Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage (Canto 3 LXVIII – CV): «But where of ye, O tempests! is the goal? / Are ye like those within the human breast? / Or do ye find, at length, like eagles, some high nest?».

Also one could see the piece as a thunderstorm which passes trough the Swiss Alps.
