Jasmine Playing Schumann’s Reverie (Op. 15, no. 7 – Scenes from Childhood)

Reverie
— by Jasmine Zhang
A young girl sat near the lake
On the Autumn day the leaves started to shake
She watched the moonlight shine so bright
The reflection upon the water giving off light
Slowly she watched the bird glide with ease
Steady and traveling with the breeze
And slowly she started to drift away
To a world where only her dreams could stay
She was in a beautiful field of land
She could feel the flowers in her hand
The animals playing with joy
Watching them was like playing with a toy
She felt a pang, longing for home
The place where she always loved to roam
But this place was amazing, beautiful indeed
So she pushed away that silly need
Her eyes drifted to the moon shining high
And the birds flying high
So she lay down in that soft bed of grass
Hoping her dream would never pass
